Use Infinity Workspace in Zoom
Broadcast Studio's virtual camera turns what is in Program into a webcam called OBS Virtual Camera, so members joining online see the slides, songs and cameras. It also works in Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Windows only for now.
Start the camera
- Open Broadcast Studio and build your scene.
- Send it to Program. Program is what Zoom receives.
- Press Start virtual camera. Keep Broadcast Studio running during the meeting; minimised is fine.
The first time on a computer, Infinity Workspace offers to set up the virtual camera. Choose Set up, then Yes when Windows asks for permission. The driver comes with the app, so there's nothing else to install. Restart Zoom afterwards so it finds the new camera.
As Zoom's main camera
Click the arrow next to Start Video and choose OBS Virtual Camera, or set it before the meeting in Zoom's Settings → Video → Camera. If it looks mirrored to you, turn off Mirror my video; everyone else sees it the right way round.
As a second camera
This keeps the speaker's own webcam on and shows the service large, as shared content.
- Click Share Screen, then the Advanced tab.
- Choose Content from 2nd Camera, then Share.
- If a different camera shows, click Switch Camera at the top left until it's OBS Virtual Camera.
Sound
The camera carries the picture only. Tick Share sound when you share, or connect the church mixer to the computer and choose it as Zoom's microphone.
Bring a Zoom meeting into your stream
The other way round: show a Zoom speaker, such as a guest preacher or a sister church, on your YouTube or Facebook stream, with their voice.
- Picture: in Broadcast Studio, click + under Sources, choose Window and pick the Zoom meeting window. Use Zoom's Speaker view, and keep the window open, not minimised.
- Sound: in the Audio mixer, click +, then App sound (Zoom, Chrome…), then Zoom. Zoom's voices get a fader of their own.
- Mute or lower Desktop Audio, or Zoom is heard twice.
App sound picks up Zoom whatever the speaker volume, so you can turn the room speakers down. It needs Windows 10 version 2004 or Windows 11. Don't send the virtual camera, with sound shared, into the same meeting at the same time, or Zoom will hear itself.
If something is wrong
- “In use by OBS Studio”
- OBS is running its own virtual camera. Stop it in OBS, then press Start virtual camera again.
- Black picture in Zoom
- Press Start virtual camera again, and check that something is in Program.
- No OBS Virtual Camera in Zoom's list
- Press Start virtual camera once and set it up if asked, then restart Zoom.
- Slide text hard to read
- Zoom often sends 720p video. Use large, bold text on slides.
